What aspects should be paid attention to in CNC lathe turning processing

The processing technology of CNC lathe is similar to that of general lathe, but because CNC lathe is clamped once and continuously and automatically processes all turning processes, the following aspects should be paid attention to. Reasonable selection of cutting parameters: For high-power metal cutting processing, the processed material, cutting tools, and cutting conditions are the three major factors. These determine the processing time, tool life and processing quality. An economical and effective processing method must be a reasonable selection of cutting conditions. The three elements of cutting conditions: cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth directly cause tool damage. With the increase of cutting speed, the temperature of the tool tip will rise, and mechanical, chemical and thermal wear will occur. If the cutting speed increases by 20%, the tool life will be reduced by 1/2. The feed condition is related to the back wear of the tool in a very small range. But the feed rate is large, the cutting temperature rises, and the back wear is large. It has less influence on the tool than the cutting speed. Although the influence of cutting depth on the tool is not as great as that of cutting speed and feed rate, when cutting with a small cutting depth, the material being cut will produce a hardened layer, which will also affect the life of the tool.

Users should select the cutting speed to be used based on the material being processed, hardness, cutting conditions, material type, feed rate, cutting depth, etc. The selection of suitable processing conditions is based on these factors. When choosing a high-quality CNC lathe processing plant, regular and stable wear to reach the life is the ideal condition. However, in actual operation, the selection of tool life is related to tool wear, changes in the size of the processed material, surface quality, cutting noise, processing heat, etc. When determining the processing conditions, it is necessary to conduct research based on the actual situation. For difficult-to-process materials such as stainless steel and heat-resistant alloys, coolants or blades with good rigidity can be used. Turning is a method of cutting the workpiece on a CNC lathe by rotating the workpiece relative to the tool. The cutting energy of turning is mainly provided by the workpiece rather than the tool. Turning is a basic and common cutting method and occupies a very important position in production. Turning is suitable for machining reverse surfaces. Most workpieces with reverse surfaces can be machined by turning, such as inner and outer cylindrical surfaces, inner and outer conical surfaces, end faces, grooves, threads and reverse forming surfaces, etc. The tools used are mainly turning tools.
