What are the structural characteristics of a horizontal milling and boring machine?

Structural Features

  1. The machine tool’s overall layout features a single column, side-mounted headstock, and a fixed rotary table. The worktable moves longitudinally and laterally on the bed, providing excellent rigidity, performance, and a wide machining range.
  2. Speed changes for the main motion and feed motion are hydraulically pre-selected and centrally controlled, saving auxiliary time and improving machining efficiency.
  3. The spindle system employs an optimized design structure with high rigidity, suitable for heavy cutting, and offers a wide speed range for operator use.
  4. The spindle head lifting, worktable longitudinal, transverse, and rotary motion distribution, and the clamping and releasing of various moving parts are all controlled by electro-hydraulic automatic devices. The control of the diamond block mechanism ensures a high degree of automation, centralized operation, large clamping force, and convenience and reliability.
  5. 6. The front column guide rail surface is electrically contact-heated and self-cooled, resulting in high guide rail hardness and extended service life.
  6. The machine tool’s horizontal guide rails are equipped with stainless steel pull-plate protective covers, which both enhance the appearance and prevent guide rail damage.
  7. All moving parts of the machine tool are electrically interlocked, meaning only one moving part is allowed to move while others are automatically clamped (except for the spindle and rotary table slider). Safety catches are installed in the feed box and rapid gearbox to provide safety protection when the machine tool is overloaded.
  8. The machine tool’s vertical coordinate (spindle box lifting) and transverse coordinate (table transverse movement) are equipped with British ball-grid digital display scales and digital displays with memory function, providing a reading accuracy of 0.005 mm. These scales are comprehensive and highly accurate. A ball-grid digital display device can also be installed for the Z-axis coordinate according to user needs.
  9. The machine tool’s electrical control uses an imported Mitsubishi programmable logic controller (PLC) from Japan, ensuring reliable performance.
