How to repair a hydraulic metal band saw that won’t rise or fall?

If a hydraulic metal band saw fails to raise or lower during operation, the first thing to check is the reversing valve. If the reversing valve is stuck in the center position and cannot be actuated, or if the solenoid valve loses power, the saw may not raise or lower properly. In this case, the reversing valve requires a thorough inspection. If the reversing valve is found to be stuck, it may be due to internal debris or mechanical wear. Remove the debris and replace the worn parts. If the solenoid valve loses power, check the power cord to ensure proper power supply. Also, check the solenoid valve for damage and replace it if necessary.

In addition to problems with the reversing valve and solenoid, other components in the hydraulic system may also cause the saw to fail to raise or lower. For example, the hydraulic hose or cylinder may be clogged or damaged, preventing normal operation. In this case, the hydraulic hose and cylinder should be inspected and cleaned to ensure they are unobstructed and functioning properly. If the hose is damaged, replace it immediately; if the cylinder is damaged, replace it immediately.

If the saw still fails to raise or lower properly after eliminating these issues, the control system may be faulty. At this time, check the sensors and wiring in the control system to ensure accurate sensor signals and proper wiring. If a sensor fault is detected, replace it; if a wiring fault is detected, reconnect it. Additionally, check the pressure and temperature sensors in the control system to ensure they are functioning properly and replace them if necessary.

During the repair process, ensure all operations comply with safety regulations to avoid accidents. After the repair is complete, conduct a test run to ensure the saw machine can raise and lower properly and is free of abnormal noise or vibration. Regular inspection and maintenance of the equipment throughout the repair process can effectively prevent malfunctions and extend its service life.
