Difference between roll grinding machines and cylindrical grinding machines

I. Different Structures and Applications

  1. Cylindrical grinding machines consist of a bed, headstock, tailstock, grinding head, and a transmission and dust extraction device. The headstock and grinding head are angle-rotating and use special fixtures for grinding center pins and chamfering of rubber rollers.

Applications:

(1) Textile spinning industry: processing rubber rollers on roving frames, drawing frames, combing machines, texturing machines, etc.

(2) Manufacturing industry of office and communication equipment: processing rubber rollers on fax machines, copiers, printers, engraving machines, etc.

  1. Roll grinding machines are metal cutting machine tools, consisting of a bed, headstock, tailstock, support frame, longitudinal and transverse slides, grinding head, measuring frame, and electrical numerical control system. They are divided into five subsystems: a load-bearing system, a drive system, a grinding system, a measuring system, and a control system. The workpiece is supported by the headstock, tailstock, and support frame, and is driven to rotate by the headstock.

Applications: Suitable for roughing and finishing heavy-duty rolls. II. Price Difference

Roll grinding machines are a special type of cylindrical grinding machine. While general cylindrical grinders can only grind flat rolls, roll grinding machines can grind rolls of any curve. This difference stems from the roll grinding machine’s unique medium-to-high grinding mechanism! Consequently, roll grinding machines are more than twice the price of general cylindrical grinders.
